2004 SOH Family Reunion
July 9 through July 11 of 2004 the Soldiers Of Honor had their first ever family
reunion.
On
the evening of Friday, 7/11, we gathered at the home of She^SOH^ and
Covert1^SOH^ in Sheffield Lake, Ohio for a cookout. After a nice evening
of socializing we moved on to the Spitzer Hotel & Marina in Lorain Ohio and
stayed up till the wee hours in the morning.
On
the morning of Saturday, 7/12, we woke and had breakfast together at the hotel.
We then loaded up a privately chartered 55 passenger bus. We traveled to
Parma Ohio and had a four hour LAN party and lunch. We then loaded up the
bus and traveled over to downtown Cleveland and spent 3+ hours at the Cleveland
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. After that we loaded up the bus again and went
to dinner. We had dinner at Quaker Steak & Lube in Sheffield Ohio.
Then we took our chartered bus back to the hotel to spend the rest of evening in
each other's company.
On
the morning of Sunday, 7/13, we woke and had breakfast together again at the
hotel.
We
made memories that will last a lifetime. We vowed to continue to have an
annual SOH Family Reunion.
2005 SOH Family Reunion
July 8 through July 10 of 2005 (for some it started July 5, 6 or 7) the Soldier
Of Honor had their 2nd annual family reunion.
This year the reunion took place in La Follette Tennessee at the Shanghai
Resort.
Friday, July 8 was a day where most attending members had a chance to leisurely
check into the hotel and socialize with members. Evening turned into
morning as we basked in each others company, chatting, telling stories and
having fun. DoubleE^SOH^ made sure no one went hungry.
Saturday, July 9 was filled with fun events. Many went to the Powell
Valley Sportsman Club to shoot trap and in the indoor range. PollyAnna^SOH^
made sure their were activities for all age groups and did an outstanding job in
preparing for the 2005 SOH Family Reunion. There was a limbo contest,
sharpshooter contest, Euchre tournament, children's fishing contest and on and
on the events went. We also have quite a bit of video of water activities
that took place at the reunion. Again, DoubleE^SOH^ made sure no one went
hungry. And again we stayed up until the wee hours of the morning chatting
and having fun.
Sunday, July 10 we saw members head out for home at different times throughout
the morning and afternoon. Again we vowed to continue the tradition.
2006 SOH Family Reunion
The 2006
reunion was held in Lorain Ohio and ran from July 6 through July9. On July
6 members checked into the Holiday Inn in Elyria Ohio and had a cookout and pool
party at Covert & She's house. On July 7 the Soldiers Of Honor
traveled to Cedar Point in
Sandusky Ohio via a chartered limousine and spent a full day there. On
July 8 we went to Goodtimes
in Avon Ohio. On the evening of July 8 we spent the evening in the
Continental Room in the Holiday Inn and played spoons, an extremely fun card
game. We also drove over to Denny's for dinner. On the morning of
July 9 we went out for breakfast.
