About TeamSpeak

What is TeamSpeak?  The Soldiers Of Honor use TeamSpeak during every day game play, competitions and whenever we need to talk to members.

To download TeamSpeak click HERE or HERE

Need help?  Click HERE  Additionally, Wally^SOH^ has created this very helpful document HERE.

In order to use TeamSpeak effectively you will need a set of quality headphones with an integrated microphone.  Real time communication during a competition is essential.  Check your local Radio Shack, Best Buy or electronics store when shopping.  Get the best headphones your budget will allow and make sure the headphones are comfortable.  A few hours wearing a cheap set of headphones will make you wish you had sprung the extra few dollars.

Once you have installed TeamSpeak you will need to input the IP address and password of the Soldiers Of Honor base station.  Seek out a member of the Soldiers Of Honor for help.  Our TeamSpeak is private and for team use only.

What's with the recruit badge? (Recruit Process)

Membership into the Soldiers Of Honor is by invitation only.

Membership is not automatic into
the Soldiers Of Honor. You must adhere to the standards set forth by SOH and carry out your membership in a gentlemanly or ladylike manner at all times. If invited we will send you our "Join Application."  Our CEO/CO, 2nd In Command, Council,Advisory Panel, and Recruiter will review your application.  If favorable, the SOH Recruiter will give you information on how to access our private TeamSpeak.  You are required to be on our TeamSpeak for 2 weeks so that our team can evaluate you.  At the end of the two week period a vote will be taken by SOH Council & Advisory Panel on whether or not to grant lower case (recruit) tag.  The recruit will wear the lower case tag for 2 weeks during their evaluation period.

At the end of this 2 week evaluation the members of SOH will vote on whether or not the recruit is accepted into the Soldiers Of Honor and wear the upper case tag.

Your bid for membership can be:
1. Rejected
2. Tabled for further review.
3. Accepted

If you are rejected this means that more than 25% of the team voted not to accept you on the squad. You have the ability to apply again 6 months after the date that the Team SOH Recruiter informs you of your rejection.

If your bid for membership is “Tabled” this means you are a recruit for two more weeks and must continue to wear your recruit badge: ^soh^.

If you are accepted you will be advised by the SOH Recruiter to put on the ^SOH^ tag after your player name. You are not to put the ^soh^ or ^SOH^ tag on anytime prior to being advised by the ^SOH^ Recruiter. Doing so will result in the end of your bid to become a member of the Soldiers Of Honor.

Note: When applying for Team SOH membership we require that the player name that you enter into the application is the player name that you stick with. This will prevent any confusion regarding your identity.

More on your name:

To edit your ICQ name click on "My ICQ", then "View/ Change My Details", then "ICQ Details/ Email", then change your "Nick Name" to your Team ^SOH^ player name.

Wear your tag with honor & pride and remember we play for fun!  "A cheater never wins and a winner never cheats."  Team SOH will never cheat!  Found cheating?  You are gone!

Very noteworthy is this fact:  Your skills as a player are secondary.  Of greater importance to us is your character as an individual.  Skills can be acquired.  Attitude is our primary concern.

Misc.

Keeping current:  Need a source for finding downloads? A great place to stay current is DF Barracks.

Lag:  Lag is a fact of life.  It happens.  Many things contribute to lag:  connection speeds and methods, map design, applications you are running, Internet structure, etc.  Excessive complaining about lag is unacceptable.  Inform the host once and drop it.  Deal with it.  Learning different servers is key to dealing with lag.  On one server you may have to "lead" a person by one foot.  On another server you may have to lead a person by 5 or 10 feet.  Your ability to adjust is what shows your true colors and skill.  If you experience lag chances are that others are too.

Conflict:  If you have a personality conflict with any other members, talk to them directly about it.  There is no need to talk with the entire team about it before you have tried to resolve a conflict directly with that member.

Continuous Improvement:  If you have constructive input that you feel should be included in this document that would be helpful to new Team SOH members please let it be known.  Helping new members "hit the ground running" is important. New members need to feel comfortable in their new team.  Having tools provided in this document all in one place should ensure that new members can focus less on getting set up and more on having fun.

Speaking of Fun:  Having "real fun" is the reason our original members created this team!  With a little effort on your part we can carry out their good intentions.  Welcome and good luck on your bid to become a member of the Soldiers Of Honor.  You are REALLY in for some great fun and we are very confident that you will make some life-long friends along the way.
