Code Of Ethics for Team ^SOH^

Preface:

This document sets forth the code of ethics for the Soldiers Of Honor (also referred to as: SOH, Team SOH and Team ^SOH^).  As a member of the Soldiers Of Honor you are expected to abide by this code at all times.  Our name defines what we are about - Honor.

Cheating:

The Soldiers Of Honor adamantly detest the use of cheats, trainers and any game or connection modification that would intentionally create an unleveled field of play.  Any member caught and confirmed as cheating by their peers will be banned from the Soldiers Of Honor permanently.

The Soldiers Of Honor will strive to belong to the one or more non-cheat organizations.  This sort of membership gives us a supply of like-minded teams to compete with.

All Soldiers Of Honor servers shall run software that gives other members the ability to ban cheaters and punt or ban unruly players.

Playing:

All members of the Soldiers Of Honor are expected to play on our servers at least once each week.  Playing the game is what brought us together in the first place.

All members are expected to wear their tag when engaged in online gaming.

We understand that there are times that events in our personal lives may prevent us from playing the game.  This would be an exception to the code.

We understand that Internet connections and hardware can prevent members from playing.  This would be an exception to the code.

We understand that individuals can temporarily "burn out" and need to step away for a while.  This would be an exception to the code.

We understand that this is "just a game" and there are times that life will require a leave of absence.  If you need to take a leave of absence it  is your responsibility to communicate your need to your team.

We require that you communicate to the team when you need an exception.

Member Activity

1- Once you have become inactive upon your request, every 30 days a communication with either the CEO/ CO, the 2nd in Command, a member of Council, or a member of the Advisory Panel must occur to extend that term.

2- If you are not active in our server for 14 days, you will automatically be placed as inactive. After 30 days with no communication with either the CEO/ CO, the 2nd in Command, a member of Council. or a member of the Advisory Panel you will automatically be removed from the team.

3- As it is understood people need a break sometimes. The minimal expectation is just a little communication, this shows you have a continued interest in being part of this family/ team. If in fact a member is inactive for several months (with proper requests to do so), Council and the Advisory Panel will discuss whether or not to continue inactive duty or release from the team. This will occur on a case by case basis.

Practicing and Competing:

The Soldiers Of Honor practice every Sunday at 8 pm eastern time.  The purpose of our practice sessions is to ensure that our team is ready to compete in scheduled scrimmages, matches and tournaments.

The Soldiers Of Honor typically try to schedule competitions @ 9 pm on Saturdays.

Obviously there are going to be exceptions for not participating in scheduled practices or competitions.

In the event that you are not able to participate in a scheduled practice session prior to a competition, you are required to contact our War Coordinator or leave a post in our private forums.

If you want to be considered for scheduled competitions then you must sign up using the private forum titled "Scrimmages/Matches & Tourn. Sign Up.  Cut off for signing up is 24 hours prior to the scheduled event.  The SOH Strategist is responsible for creating a roster for scheduled competitions and works off of the list of those signed up.

In the event that you are not able to participate in scheduled competitions and were expected to, you are required to contact our War Coordinator or leave a post in our private forums.

The Soldiers Of Honor is not a place for "armchair quarterbacks".  Get in the game.  Practice so that you are ready.

If you don't participate in scheduled practices, don't expect to compete in scheduled competitions.  Members that participate in the practice sessions prior to scheduled competitions will compete in the scrimmages/ matches.

The Soldiers Of Honor are of the opinion that competition is healthy.

Communication:

The Soldiers Of Honor use TeamSpeak, our team website http://www.teamsoh.com/, our Public and Private forums and e-mail to communicate.

All members are expected to be on TeamSpeak when engaged in play or competition.  If you're playing the game and not using TeamSpeak it could be considered as rude.  There are exceptions to this code.  Some folks need to observe silence in the evenings within their homes.  Please let your team members know if you are not able to use TeamSpeak so they understand that you are not being rude.  You are expected be "on" TeamSpeak even if you can't use your microphone.

You are expected to visit our team website at least every 48 hours.  Our website is for you and is a tool used to communicate team related events.  Please show respect by staying up to date with your team.  It is not our responsibility to track each member down to explain events and related information.

You are expected to visit our Private Forums and encouraged to use our Public Forums.  Our Private Forums will contain polls for gathering information and decision making.

Use Of Foul Language:

The use of foul language is prohibited on TeamSpeak, our servers and any other server.  You are a Soldier Of Honor and are expected to conduct yourself as such - with honor.

General Conduct:

As a member of the Soldiers Of Honor you are expected to conduct yourself with honor at all times on all servers.  Unruly behavior will not be tolerated.  Disrespect for members or guests on our servers will not be tolerated.  As a member of the Soldiers Of Honor you agree to treat others with respect and honor.  Talking "smack" goes against our code of ethics.

Lag:

Lag is a fact of life for anyone who games over the Internet.  If you experience lag, you may let the host know about it - once.  After that - drop it.  Deal with it.

You may want to ensure that you aren't running any unnecessary processes.  You may also want to ensure that your hardware is within acceptable parameters to run the game.  Also, you may want to ensure that your Internet connection is acceptable.

You may want to look at what acceptable tweaks are available to you for ensuring that lag is not at your end.

Note: If invited to apply for SOH membership we require that the player name that you enter into the application is the player name that you stick with. This will prevent any confusion regarding your identity.
