Rules -

On Invitational Sign Up and Scheduling Matches
Sign up for the tournament began on 7/19/2004. The final date for sign up will be (To Be Determined). Tournament brackets will be posted no later than (To Be Determined).

On Rounds

Round 1

Teams will be randomly selected to face off in round one.  All team names will be placed on a small piece of paper, one team name per piece of paper, and drawn from a hat.  This process will be video taped and made available to the Council Of Teams.  The first team name pulled will be blue.  The second team name pulled will be red.  These 2 teams will face off in round 1.  This same process will be used until all teams have opponents.  Team colors on subsequent rounds will be dictated by the invitational bracket.  Teams will have ten days to have scheduled and play Round 1 after first notification.

If a team fails to respond to a notification ICQ message from the opposing team’s tournament coordinator or Council Of Teams member after a period of more than of one week, then that team will be disqualified and the other team will advance to the next round. Extensions will be given on a case by case basis decided by the Council Of Teams with the approval of the opposing team.  Each round of the invitational will consist of 10 days.

On Following Rounds

Teams will have 10 days to have scheduled and played the next round in the invitational.

On Number of Players
The number of players is set at eight players per team. With an understanding of work and school schedules, the minimum number of players will be set at six. If a team fails to field the minimum of six players on the date and time agreed on by both teams, then they must forfeit and allow the opposing team to advance.  If a team can not come up with 8 players it is at the discretion of the opposing team whether or not they match with a reduced number of players.

On Members and Mercenaries
Each team's website must contain a current roster for the tournament. The use of mercenaries in this invitational is not  permitted and will result in the suspected squad's disqualification from the tournament.

On Teams

No two teams may band together to play as one team.

On Serving  (Council Of Teams to consider a re-write of "On Serving")
Each Team is responsible for having a dedicated server available for their match. If a server is needed for a tournament match and neither team is able to provide a dedicated server then ^SOH^ will be glad to provide a server for that match. A request for a tournament match server to be provided by ^SOH^ must be sent to the ^SOH^ Tournament Judge at a minimum of 24 hrs in advance.  (NOTE:  This will likely need to be revised based on our agreement with HIS-MOTHER of SnM Servers.)

On Advancing to the next round:
The team winning 3 out of 5 maps, with map B of the 3rd map being a tie breaker in case of a draw, advance to the next round.  Each round will = 10 days.  7 days to play a match followed by 3 days for advancing teams to schedule next round.  Schedule is documented in bracket document HERE.  (Will be posted when brackets are finalized.  For a sample click HERE.)

On Reporting Wins & Losses
Each team's Council Of Teams member will ensure the setting up of matches and reporting of the outcome of each match, with screen shots to be sent to Mustang@teamsoh.com. Screen shots are to be sent from both teams and will be viewed by the Council Of Teams.  SOH will  then update the tournament bracket with said information.

On Cheating and Unsportsmanlike Conduct
There will be zero tolerance for cheating or poor sportsmanship for the duration of the tournament. Any member of any squad caught cheating or displaying poor sportsmanship will result in the disqualification of that squad from the tournament. A screen shot of suspected cheaters or acts of unsportsmanlike conduct will be required and must be sent to to Mustang@teamsoh.com for the Council Of Teams to review.  After careful review by the Council Of Teams judgment will be made as to whether or not the squad in question will be disqualified or allowed to continue in the tournament.

The roofs of all metal shacks are off limits.

On Dispute Resolution

In the event that any disputes should occur during the course of the invitational, they should be documented in the private forum titled "^SOH^ St. Jude Charity Invitational"."  Applicable screen shots of the offense must be sent to Mustang@teamsoh.com.  Said screen shots will be posted for Council Of Teams to review along with your post.  This complaint or any surrounding arguments shall not appear on any team's website (or forum) until a decision has been reached by the Council Of Teams.   Each participating team has agreed to these rules and they must be observed.  It is of paramount importance that the Council Of Teams review any disputes and make a ruling within 48 hours of the dispute being posted so that arrangements can be made for the next round in the invitational.  Any dispute resolution made by the Council Of Teams will be final.

In Conclusion

These are the rules for the SOH Charity Invitational.  They have been voted on and approved by the Council Of Teams and are therefore binding to all teams engaged.  (This line was written prior to voting and is subject to the Council Of Teams approval)

These rules are designed to ensure this a fun and clean invitational.  Full cooperation and compliance with these rules is mandatory and greatly appreciated. Remember the number one goal here is to have fun while raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
